SUMMARY:MTEA National Board Cohort
DESCRIPTION:2025-2026 National Board Candidate Support\nNational Board certification is the highest level of certification a teacher can attain\, with personal\, professional\, and monetary rewards.  This cohort will meet monthly to explore various components of the certification process and provide support for MTEA and area WEAC candidates.  Each session will generally begin with a presentation sharing tips and strategies for tackling the required components for certification (~1hr)\, followed by time for candidate Q&A and opportunities to work with other members of the cohort as well as with trained mentors. \nAll sessions except the WEAC Writing Retreat are held at the MTEA Building from 5-7pm.  Please register below for as many sessions as you want to attend. \nSeptember 25\, 2025 – What is National Board Certification?  \nLearn about what is involved in this rigorous process and what resources and financial incentives are available to assist candidates. \nOctober 22\, 2025 – Getting Started with National Board Certification \nDive into the National Board standards\, the Architecture of Accomplished Teaching\, and the 5 Core propositions of National Board certification.
