Hispanic Heritage Art Session

September 30 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Celebrate the vibrant cultures, traditions, and creativity of Hispanic/Latino communities through art!

Join us for hands-on, members-only activities—no experience required. Explore 3 dynamic art lessons you can take back to your students to show how people across cultures use the arts as a powerful form of communication.

Art activities include a Dia de los Muertos project using foil relief mounted on paper (can be adapted K-12). Next, we journey to the ancient Mayan world to design zodiac calendars with crayon rubbings on sandpaper, transferred onto muslin squares (for students 3rd-8th grade). Our final piece draws inspiration from the Caribbean Taino culture, where students will use watercolor to reimagine traditional Taino symbols with a contemporary twist (can be adapted K-12).

Celebrate heritage, exchange stories, and create meaningful art together!

All supplies will be provided.

Join us on Tuesday, September 30 from 5-6pm at the MTEA Building.  Please register below to ensure we have enough supplies.
