MTEA-R General Membership Meeting

The MTEA-R General Membership meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 1 pm at the Washington Park Senior Center, 4420 West Vliet Street. The theme of this year’s meeting will be focused on healthcare and other earned benefits.

The theme of this year’s meeting is “Get Involved!”

You will learn about how you can be more involved in the November 2026 Gubernatorial election and the April 2027 Milwaukee School Board election. You will be presented with information about how the future of MPS and our retirement security will be impacted by the outcome of these very important elections. You can make a difference.

We will feature interactive information sharing on your experiences, good and bad, with the UnitedHealthcare PPO and EPO plans, UHC Medicare Advantage plan, OptumRx, the high cost of the current premium share process for pre-Medicare retirees, denial of services, open enrollment, and any other questions or concerns you might have. Our union will assist MTEA-R in bringing these concerns to the MPS administration. As the MTEA continues to fight to maintain and improve benefits, we want to make sure that retirees are at the table.

This important meeting is open to MTEA-R members. If you have not yet joined MTEA-R, you can do so before the meeting during registration. The lifetime fee is $75.00 for retired Teacher members and $37.50 for Educational Assistant, ESP-150 and Substitute Teacher members.
